Although summer has come to an end, I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful, hot months with friends and family!
We had lots of beach time and lots of quality family time, but now we are ready for the school year to start (as I’m sure many of you are too).
Throughout the summer, people have been asking me and my husband how he is losing weight, and what exactly he is doing. He really does look so great, and I could not be prouder of him. That was the main reason for this blog post—to share his success, and to share what is working for him.

Having gratitude is such an important factor in our lives. Finding a few moments where you can reflect and focus on what you are grateful for can be so helpful. If we can all focus more on what is going right in our lives, we can see all the good that is happening even if there are some twists and turns along the way. This helps us stay positive and keep moving froward with our head held high—it’s one of the best ways for us to reach our goals, no matter what they may be!
It’s a good idea, right?
Making lists has always worked for me! Try creating a list of what you are grateful for, either once a day or once per week. Writing it down and seeing it in print can have such a positive result.

Do you take your shoes off at the front door? If you answered no, then you are most likely bringing in all types of germs and bacteria into your house. A study done by the University of Arizona found an average of 421,000 different bacteria on shoes. That’s a lot of bacteria!
The biggest culprits were the following: Escherichia coli (E. Coli), which can cause intestinal and urinary tract infections, meningitis and diarrheal disease; Klebsiella pneumonia, which can cause infections in wounds and bloodstream, and can cause pneumonia; and Serratia ficaria, a rare infection that can make its way into your respiratory tract and wounds.
It’s that time of year again when the kids are back to school and we’re all running around trying to adjust to the schedule. Frankly, it’s been exhausting and I am now convinced September is just one of the most hectic months of the year! 🙂
Getting the kids fed, dressed, combed, and in the car by 7:30am calls for a quick morning makeup fix (because time is limited and mommy is on the go)!

Keeping a healthy balance between work and family life, especially as we transition from the school year into summer, can be a little tough. Let’s be honest! With the kids around more often, sometimes we want to pull our hair out as we try to keep them entertained and work at the same time. I think this is a period of adjustment for all of us—the kids go from a rigid school schedule to a much more relaxed schedule, so this is a challenging transition for sure.
