Why I Need a Break

Hi guys! Hope you are all soaking up the last days and weeks of summer. Some of my friends have already started school (reality bites!). My kids go back to school after Labor Day, and I have mixed feelings about back to school time as a mom.

I wanted to connect with you guys now about what is on my mind right now. This is a space where I think honesty, transparency and keeping it real is so important. That’s what makes this a real and authentic place to connect. So with that being said, I am telling you guys that I need a break.

Family vacation

I love summer, but this summer has been very challenging for me with juggling work and the kids. Since my husband has been gone for much of the summer due to his work travel schedule, it has been difficult for me to juggle and there has not been much of a balance. Frankly, just keeping up is just too much sometimes. I am feeling tired and slightly burned out. So I am here to tell you that I am jumping off this hamster wheel and taking a much-needed break. My podcast microphone is on break for the next couple of weeks, and I won’t be blogging until we return from our vacation.

Family Vacation 2019

My husband and I want to connect again too and believe me, he needs a vacation in a big way as well. I want to enjoy some quality time with my kids without being frantic, rushed or stressed. We are looking forward to slowing down even for a few days. I have set the alarm on my phone almost every day this summer, and I plan to put the alarm clock away for the vacation and just wake up in the morning when I want to for a much-needed change. Ahhh, sleep!

My family vacation

I am sure many of you have felt these similar feelings at some point too.  I hope you can relate to how I am feeling. Self-care and self-love are so important, and we all need to recognize when it’s time to take care of ourselves. I also need time to get my creative juices flowing again so I can focus on putting out good content once again. I promise the “Nina’s Got Good News” Podcast will be back better than ever with new content and new episodes in a couple of weeks! It fills me up to share the good news, and that we continue to grow this movement together in the audio space.

Please feel free to listen to recent episodes here if you missed any. I really loved this episode with Lauren Smith Brody about women in the workplace. Bravo, Lauren!

Thank you all for reading this and for all the support from the beginning.
We truly are #bettertogether. Here’s to taking a break and giving ourselves the grace to rest.

With love,

xoxo NBC
