Are you a creature of habit? Well I am. I love a routine, a habit, the same stuff, the same places, the same people, and my comfort zone!
In our family’s case, we always go to Cape Cod in the summer for our family vacation. I mean after all, I have been going to Cape Cod since I was a little girl. We all love it there, and it is such a special place for us in New England. Why would we go anywhere else? It is so tempting for me to default to the same summer vacation spot each year, but this summer we decided we are going to change it up. Yes, we really are trying something new and going somewhere we have never been before.
I will be very sad not to be on the beaches of Cape Cod enjoying beautiful sunsets and fresh lobster this August. But I know the comfort of the Cape will always be there, and we can always go back another time. I am actually excited to explore a new location, try new things, meet new people, and experience something new for a change. Believe it or not, this small shift in our family vacation plans is taking me out of my comfort zone and it feels good. I am proud that we have actually all agreed to go to a new place! Can you say personal growth? ? My son, in particular, is like me—we do not love change! But we are all in agreement, and we are all excited about this new plan. Lake George, here we come! We are ready to make some NEW MEMORIES. Happy summer to you all!
