All About Women

Happy International Womens Day 2019

In honor of International Women’s Day today, I thought it would be appropriate to mark this day with some inspirational women who are part of my tribe. They have all been amazing guests on “Nina’s Got Good News” Podcast, and they are making an impact in their communities every single day. They inspire me and they make me better. In my eyes, this day is all about women supporting, learning, lifting, encouraging, helping, inspiring and celebrating other women.

I know my 81-year old mom helped pave the way for me by teaching me how to be a strong woman (thank you for everything, mom!). Now I am trying hard to be a role model for my own daughter, and teach her how to be strong, too. We truly are BETTER TOGETHER.

In their own words, my #PodcastTribe shares their thoughts on this important day with all of you. Happy International Women’s Day, and here’s to strong women!

P.S.: As a proud mom of a strong boy, I celebrate him as well.

This day is about Community. Building up others in life, hope or business. Sharing how strong we are as a community of women to inspire young girls to change their world.

It’s important to me (especially this year) because of the exciting time in history that we’re a part of right now. Women are SO coming into their own! We have more female elected government officials than ever before, women are really using their voices, more women are running for President, and I can sense the STRENGTH of women everywhere. You can FEEL the “Girl Power.” It’s in music lyrics, it’s the theme of movies, it’s on graphic tees, it’s everywhere. It’s an amazing time to be a woman!

I am raising a thirteen-year-old daughter and every day I try to encourage her to be strong in mind, body and convictions. It is wonderful that there is a day dedicated to empowering and celebrating women! I dedicate today to my daughter, mother, auntie, cousin, sister in law,  nonnie, yayas, and all the amazing girlfriends in my life! I am so grateful for all of the influential strong, intelligent and loving women in my life!

We’re stronger together. If we don’t carve out time, then time passes us by. We need to make time to celebrate and to figure out how to do better for all women in every part of the world. It is a day to shine a light on the value and contributions of women in this world, in any and all capacities.

It’s important for me to celebrate all of the women who have come before me and helped me define the way I walk through the world. There is a tiny bit of all of them in me and our soon to arrive daughter. (We all can’t wait for your baby girl to arrive!)

I think about celebrating all the women I know. All they have done, loved, listened and inspired. I take this day to be grateful for women all around me doing amazing things for our world, community, and future. I give thanks to all the moms out there working hard to raise beautiful people to go forward in the world. I also give thanks for the women before me who helped create a world we live in today!
